As a not-for-profit organisation, the RAS relies on volunteers to make the Sydney Royal Easter Show a success.
Sydney Royal Easter Show volunteers have a vital and valued role to play in the smooth and safe operation of the Show. They make sure people enjoy themselves by providing information and assistance, by promoting the Show as a safe, family-friendly event, displaying a positive attitude and wearing their uniform with pride. They make the Show an educational, exciting and engaging experience for all Show-goers.
From answering event questions in the Alpaca Pavilion to working as ushers in the Animal Nursery, working as a radio controller in the Volunteer Green Room to assisting with the coordination of the Pumpkin Challenge activities, there are dozens of volunteer roles to fill, and a wide array of skills that can be put to good use.
Each volunteer receives an official uniform, meal vouchers and exclusive access to the Volunteer Green Room. In return, volunteers are asked to do a minimum of eight shifts over the 14 days of the Show.
Volunteers offer to give up their time for many different reasons. What unites them is a commitment to making the Show a great day out for all, and a love of sharing the energy, the passion and the fun that goes with participating in one of Australia’s favourite annual events.
It’s highly addictive. Many volunteers return time year after year, enjoying the camaraderie, the sense of pride and the sheer fun that volunteering for the Show brings. Without them, it just wouldn’t be the same Show.
Recruitment and training for volunteers commences approximately six months prior to the Show. To volunteer, find out all the latest information for the next Sydney Royal Easter Show.
